Afghanistan:
Both American managers were significantly involved in the rebuild of the Kabul Military Training Center (KMTC) in Kabul, Afghanistan. The rebuild included three phases of construction over a five-year period for a value approaching $200 million. Our involvement included developing the construction requirements, obtaining Afghan
Government and Military acceptance and approval of the construction plans, justifying the requirements to the U.S. Government, participation in the contract development phase and execution of the construction project.
Following are photographs showing the devastated areas on KMTC taken in 2005 and the results of a portion of the phased construction project taken in 2012.These photos show only a portion of the overall 80 building project with infrastructure. The project provided new rifle/grenade/artillery ranges, roads, 13 kVA Power Plant, housing, classrooms, fire station, bulk water storage, increased sewage capacity, dining facilities, recreational facilities and office buildings to support over 12,000 soldiers.
